Aleah Diane Green was born on December 12, 1974 to the union of Reverend Leslie and Betty Green in the city of Mt. Clemens, MI. She was the youngest of their four children and she was the youngest grandchild on both sides of her family. “Lee Lee”, as she was affectionately known by family and friends, passed away on January 29, 2025.
Aleah was completely devoted and a very dedicated mother to her son Shiloh James Searcy.
Aleah loved to read books by Harlem Renaissance authors and was an avid student and lifelong learner. Lee Lee attended Trinity Lutheran Elementary School and graduated on the Dean’s list from Lutheran North High School in 1993. Sponsored by Mount Clemens Rotary International District 6380 USA, she studied abroad in Brazil and attended Colegio Objetivo TiVo Pinda de São Paulo Brasil. She was loved and hosted by her Brazilian family, Marley and Edgar Sorano. Aleah immersed herself in Brazilian culture becoming fluent in Portuguese and Spanish and formally completing Vital International Programs language courses. She taught English while in Brazil.
Aleah was among American Who’s Who High School students and earned a spot in Oakland University’s Academic Opportunity Program in the summer of 1993. She was awarded for Best Attitude, Basketball, Career Symposium, Academic Olympics and Talent. Aleah received her Bachelors of Arts in Sociology and Psychology from Oakland University in 1998. She earned a Masters in Operations Management from Lawrence Technological University in 2003.
Aleah’s musical endeavors began at the young age of 3 by singing in the Northwestern Community Baptist Church Choir. “Zoom and Very Zoom” (Soon and Very Soon - Andre Crouch) was her favorite song to sing. She received Christ as her Savior and was baptized at 8 years old at Greater Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church and sang with the Mighty Voices of Love and served on the Youth Usher Board. Lee Lee was most recently a Kindergarten Teacher at Barber Academy. She was most disturbed because some children didn’t yet know their ABC’s in kindergarten. Childhood education was of the utmost priority to her. The best part of her day was reading to her class.
She was also a gifted loctition at Virtuous Salon.
