Obituary for
Callie Ann
Callie Ann was born to Leola Byous-Jackson and LC Jackson on September 22, 1944. She attended Cass Technical and Northwestern High Schools where she studied dance and theater. She was lead performer in many productions. Callie accepted Christ at an early age and was an energetic and active member weather she was singing in the choir, serving as announcement clerk or as church secretary at Second Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church.
Callie was an exceptionally loving and gracious woman. She was selfless and giving; always ready to help her family, loved ones and friends. If you were down and out, she lifted you up. If you needed a place to live, her door was open, you were welcome and made to feel at home. She extended herself to MANY often to the point of sacrifice.
Callie (AKA: Cookie or Ms. Ann) enjoyed traveling as well. She visited Beijing China, Argentina, Brazil, Aruba, and St. Lucia. She saw Cirque Du Soleil, Alvin Ailey and Dance Theatre of Harlem performances in California, Las Vegas, Chicago and Toronto. Callie's greatest love was her sons. She worked over 30 years at Chrysler Engine plants (very long/very hard work) to support and care for them. Callie was there for her Mother and her sister as well with prayer, support and love, always love. She was devoted to all of them and they were to her.
Callie made her transition at Henry Ford Hospital on July 31, 2011. She is survived by her sons: Ulysses Leroy (Celeste), George Erroll (Rosemary), and Kelly Anderson; her sister: Deborah; Grandchildren: Alisa, Cameo, Kevin, Brittany and George-Cole; and great granddaughter Micah. She is also survived by Uncles, cousins and many friends.
Ms. Ann made each person she loved feel special in each of their own individual way. She was unconditionally loving and loved. She will be remembered and missed always.
