Aquilaton L.
Malone
July 22, 1967 – April 7, 2026
Obituary
Aquilaton Lorne Malone was born on July 22, 1967, to the union of William Allen Malone and Audra Mae Wilson, at Highland Park General Hospital in Highland Park, MI. Both parents preceded him in death.
Aquilaton, Quil, as he was commonly known, grew up on the west side of Detroit. He attended William H. Peck Elementary School, Durfee Junior High School and Central High School where he graduated in 1985. For many years he worked in security at the Detroit City County Building, a job he enjoyed.
During those years, Quil enjoyed spending time with friends and family at picnics and gatherings. He liked playing basketball, weight lifting, going to concerts and just being by the water to relax. He was also a talented artist. He loved to draw and sketch, especially cars. He had many sketch books filled with drawings of his favorite vehicles, various Cadillac models and the Chrysler 300. Quil loved to eat. His favorite foods were American and Mediterranean cuisine and, of course, his snacks.
Quil also studied the Bible with Jehovah’s Witnesses and attended meetings at the Kingdom Hall and assemblies with his sisters. It was our beloved mother, Audra, who accepted the truth and dedicated her life to God and taught all of her children about Jehovah. Quil remembered and tried to apply what he learned even at the end of his life.
After a lengthy illness, Quil passed away on April 7, 2026 at DMC Harper University Hospital in Detroit, MI.
Quil’s oldest brother Gary preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn him five siblings: William, Elizabeth, Audrey (Julius), Johnetta (Eddie) and Allen (Katrina) as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
