Life Story for
James N. Beamer
James Neal Beamer was born on February 26, 1957 to the late John C and Carolyn Beamer in Detroit, Michigan. He was seventh of eight children. His early education began at St. Anthony Catholic School, where he was baptized. He was an altar boy at St. Anthony and St. John Vanney Catholic Schools.
James attended Highland Park High School. He enjoyed playing on the football team and playing in the band. One year, he was so excited about the opportunity to play his clarinet in the Thanksgiving Day Parade and marching down Woodward. He graduated from Highland Park High School in 1975 and pursued a college education at Eastern Michigan University. In 1980, James graduated with a Bachelor's in Business Administration.
Upon graduation, James began a career at First Federal Bank as a Branch Manager and retired in 1996. During his career, he met the love of his life, Corliss. The couple was blessed with two children, Kariss and Corbin Beamer.
James had a real zest for life and a comedic flair to match. He always had a smile on his face, whomever met him was drawn to him instantly. He was very giving, kind, and willing to help anyone. He loved listening to jazz, watching sports, action movies, and anything with Halle Berry in it.
James leaves to cherish his loving memories; two children; Kariss, and Corbin; four sisters; Lilla, Ilsa, Josephine and Georgana (Betty) Taylor who took care of him until his death; one brother; Chris (Sandy); an honorary brother, Larry Waites; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends, and brothers Johnny and Walter, whom preceded him in death.
