In Detroit, MI, Mr. Elroy Booker, affectionately known as Book, Was born January 18, 1958, to the late Louella Ray and Elroy Rhodes. He was the eldest child of both his parent's children. Elroy took his role as a big brother seriously and was often seen as a father figure to most people he encountered. Elroy was a very proud father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather and enjoyed spending time with his children.
Elroy had a strong faith and accepted Christ in his life at an early age. He was educated through the Detroit Public School System. Elroy was a hard worker. He worked for National Metal, Norms Restaurant, Tringally Sanitation, and his own Landscaping business until he became disabled. Elroy loved money and was a hustler; he would always find ways to make money. During recent events, he started a transportation service that he looked forward to doing. Throughout his fight, he continued to do things to make him happy such as traveling to Vegas, buying the things he wanted, and spending quality time with his family.
Elroy was great at everything he did and enjoyed music, shooting pool, fishing, training dogs, gambling, and dressing nice. Elroy was very protective and always wanted his family to remain close regardless of the circumstances. He always made sure his family members who passed on were remembered at his traditional balloon releases at his mother's gravesite.
On September 20, 2021, at 8:47 pm, Elroy made his transition from this earth to God's Presence.
Elroy was preceded in death by his parents Louella Ray and Elroy Rhodes, Brother Johnny Ray, and Sister Lisa Rhodes.
He leaves to cherish his memory and love his children Charmain Jones, Elroy Lucky Jones (Beverly Jones), DeAndre Omar Booker (Crystal Wheeler), His Siblings Doris Ann Ray, Louis Ray, Kenneth Ray, Lawrence Ray (Louella Ray). Elroy Lamont Rhodes, Tommy Rhodes, Chrsantha Petties, El Muhammad Rhodes (Elroy Rhodes). Grandchildren Tavin Isaac, Vontavia Buford, Elroy Lucky Jones Jr., Kamryn Bowden (Lucky), Summer Booker, Autumn Nelson (DeAndre). Two Great Grandchildren, Lyric Isaac and Alayah Woolfolk (Tavin), and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, neighbors, friends, and dog King Bay Boy.
