Norma F. Brown
Norma Faye Brown, the fourth of five children, was born to Harold and Ina Coker on July 22nd, 1917 in Detroit, Michigan. Norma attended and graduated from Easter High School. After graduating from high school, she went on to work the next 40 years of her life at J.L. Hudson department store in the slip and drapery department. She was a very accomplished seamstress both professionally and in her personal life.
Norma was a steadfast wife to her late husband Hamilton “Hamp” Brown who she loved dearly. Together they spent the majority of their later years in their summer home in Shrewsbury, Ontario entertaining family and friends. They both also loved to travel in the US and Canada. Norma was an active member of the Shrewsbury Baptist church until she moved back to Detroit in 2008.
Norma is survived by her younger brother Bernard Coker, son Ronald Houser, granddaughters Christina (Antoine) Glenn, Ronette Houser and many nephews, nieces, cousins, family and friends.
