Delores W. Cooper

Delores Watkins Cooper was born October 9th, 1948, in Detroit Michigan to Charlie H. Watkins & Ora Lee Watkins. Delores accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of New Light Baptist Church. Delores was educated in the Detroit public school system she attended Goldberg elementary, Hutchin’s Middle and Northwestern High school, where she would receive her diploma.  Delores attended Ferris state university for 2 years and didn’t receive 1 credit, but she said she had a ball.

After college Delores was employed at Hudson department store but eventually leaving to pursue a career at General Motors. During her 27 years at General Motors, she would meet fall in love and eventually marry Hal Cooper Sr.  Delores and Hal were married August 25th, 1973, to this union 2 children were born, Neal Damon and Harold Brian.

Delores hobbies included shopping, dining out, shopping, watching her stories, shopping, reading books, shopping and shopping. She also enjoyed taking her husband and children to every doctor she could think of. She enjoyed movies, plays, concerts and all things culture.

Delores departed this life January 20th, 2022, she was preceded in death by her husband Hal Cooper Sr., her parents Charlie & Ora Lee Watkins and brother Charles Watkins (JR)

She leaves to cherish in her memories: Neal (Annetta), Harold (Shamae); 12 grandchildren: Jarod, Ashley, Eleshia (Shauny), Nicholas, Harold Jr, Damien, Brandon, Brianna, Ryan, Kane, Kristian and Roman; 4 great Grandchildren Trinity, Taleiyah (CoCo), Ashton, and Tyler. Her Best friend of 66 years Delores Chisolm (Whips) and 4 God children Lacy, Traci, Kenyetta and Derrick. And a host of nephew, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
