With heavy hearts yet a spirit of celebration, we announce the passing of Dorothy Ann Minter, who left us on June 27, 2025. Born on December 20, 1954, in Gray, Georgia, Dorothy was a shining light whose warmth and strength touched the lives of many. She made her home in Detroit, Michigan, where she spent her days as a devoted mother and hard worker, showcasing her unwavering work ethic and resilience.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Minter, Sr. and her parents Jessie Hurt, Sr. and Annie Hurt.
Dorothy is survived by her beloved sons, Floyd Minter and Clarence Minter, who cherish the memories of their mother's laughter, love, and wisdom. Together, they remember her as a pillar of strength, always offering support and encouragement, and her legacy will live on in their hearts.
We invite family, friends, and all who knew Dorothy to gather in remembrance and celebration of her life. A funeral service will be held at the James H. Cole Northwest Chapel on July 10, 2025, at 11:00 AM, preceded by a Family Hour at 10:30 AM. We look forward to sharing stories, laughter, and tears as we pay tribute to the extraordinary woman that Dorothy was.
Following the service, Dorothy will be laid to rest at Detroit Memorial Park, in a ceremony that will honor her life and the love she brought to all who knew her.
Though she may no longer be with us physically, Dorothy's spirit will forever resonate in our hearts, reminding us to live fully and to cherish every moment. Let us celebrate her remarkable journey and the indelible mark she left on this world.
