Mary Ella Douglas
Mary Ella Douglas was born in Natchez, Mississippi on April 17, 1927 to Erias and Bessie Wright. She moved to Michigan in 1946 and met Ernest Douglas Jr. They married and from the union 4 children were born.
Mary confessed her love for Christ at New Mount Herman Baptist church where her children were baptized. She later became a dedicated friend of Elevation Fellowship of Light where she was affectionately known as May-May. She served as an active prayer panelist and a member of the usher board. She was a dedicated soldier for the Lord.
Mary held various jobs in her life until she became employed by General Motors in 1969 where she retired.
Mary enjoyed a love for life. She loved to dress and look good. Until the end she applied her makeup daily. She liked wearing hats and looked good in all of them.
She also had a sense of humor and liked to let you know when you gained weight.
On March 31, 2014, God called Mary from her labor unto her reward. She fought a good fight and finished her course.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; sisters, Thelma and Beatrice and brothers; Thomas, Fred, Edward, Joe and Henry. She is survived by her children, Ernest III, Willie (Katrina), Sherry and Betty (Darius), 3 grandchildren, Derrick, Tamil and Alysha and 2 great-grandchildren; Derrick Jr. and Megan, 2 sisters; Gertrude Sewell of Natchez, Mississippi and Sadie Fleming of New Orleans Louisiana and lots of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
