Later in life, he moved to Detroit, Michigan, where he continued to touch the lives of those around him. Eddie accepted life in Jesus Christ at an early age and gained his wings on August 25th, 2024.
Eddie attended Cooley High School and had a profound passion for working on automobiles. He enjoyed building transmissions and engines with his dad, a hobby that brought them closer together. Eddie's love for his family and his dogs, Taz and Bear, was evident in everything he did.
Preceding him in death are his beloved mother, Diane Marie Newsome (Ronald – stepdad), and his cherished son, Marquise Jackson.
Eddie leaves behind a devoted wife, Mrs. Wanda Frye Newsome, who will forever hold his love in her heart; his father, Eddie B. Wade; his son, Eddie Newsome III (Kristina); and his daughter, Diane Newsome. He also leaves behind his blended children, Aries, Kendric, Jevonte, Jerrimie, and Jazmine Frye. Eddie's brothers, Michael Newsome (Marcy), Danny Newsome (Karen), Edward Jones, Ronald Newsome, and Sam Johnson (Teresa), and his sisters, Paulette Newsome, Kim Newsome, and Sherrell Phillips (Montego), all of New York, will always treasure his memory.
Eddie's extended family includes his brother and sister-in-laws: Mary Henry (Henry), Diane Henry (Vincent), Rita Thompson (Larry), Leonard Mendenhall (Vinda), Anthony Mendenhall (Deardra), and Raymond Mendenhall, all of Alabama; Quenette Mendenhall (Darrel), Alfred Mendenhall (Tammy), and Edward Frye, of Detroit, Michigan. His mother-in-law, Jessie Dortch (William Fields), and dear aunts Valerie and Sally of New York, will also remember him fondly.
Eddie's beloved grandbabies, Amari, Denyla, Bella, Haydin, Aries II, Markise, Isiah, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, will carry forward his legacy of love and kindness.
Eddie's life was a testament to his faith, his dedication to his family, and his passion for his work. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him. As one of his friends fondly said, "Eddie had a heart of gold and a spirit that could light up any room. His kindness and generosity knew no bounds." His wife, Wanda, lovingly shared, "Eddie was my rock, my confidant, and my best friend. His love and strength will continue to guide me every day."
