Frances Mariahn Casse-Williams departed this life on Sunday, July 17, 2022 at Medilodge Nursing Home in Farmington, Michigan. Mariahn, or sister as she was affectionately called, was born December 04, 1947 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Frealand Edward Casse and Mary Frances Casse.
Mariahn’s family moved to Detroit, Michigan in 1951 where she attended Detroit Public Schools. After graduating she worked at the the Law Firm of Patmon, Young and Kirk for many years where she met her long time friend Juanita.
Upon retiring from the law firm, Mariahn moved to live with her beloved sister Freala and her husband Oliver.
She loved watching classic movies and suspense/detective shows and was an avid reader before she became ill. Also, at the top of her list was watching Joel Osteen. She would always call her friend Myra to watch with her even in the middle of the night. She enjoyed cooking or having a good meal with a friend at her favorite restaurants. Mariahn enjoyed the simple things in life.
After the death of her sister, Mariahn took care of Oliver when he became ill. She was devoted to taking care of and getting him the best care. When he was admitted to the hospital she would drive through snow storms and inclement weather to ensure that he was getting the best care.
Mariahn accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior. She enjoyed having the scriptures read to her especially the Book of Psalms.
Left to cherish Mariahn’s memory are cousins, Bonita Thomas of Columbia Maryland, Charles and Monica Thomas of Virginia Beach, Va., Vaughn Jones of Illinois, Vanessa Simmons of Maryland, an aunt, Bettie Thomas of Chesapeake Va., longtime friends Juanita and Kanye and cousins and friends.
Acknowledgements and Appreciation
The family would like to take this opportunity to give special thanks to Juanita and Kanye and his niece (who were caregivers from the heart). Because of their sacrifice and friendship to Mariahn, she was able to get to doctors appts, have personal matters handled and get the things she needed to live life.
Special thanks also to her neighbor Carnell, as well as Alice, for helping around the house and doing whatever was needed to help. A special thank you to Mary for supporting the family by sacrificing her time and efforts to help Mariahn.
We also want to express our sincere appreciation for all the acts of kindness shown over the years to Mariahn. Your prayers and concern were heartfelt. May God continue to bless and keep you in His care.
