Gary Terence Clemons Sr.

January 17, 1960 — November 25, 2022

Gary Terence Clemons Sr. was born January 17, 1960 to Clarence and Ernestine Clemons in Detroit, Michigan who preceded him in death. Gary was the “apple of their eyes”.

Gary was educated in the Detroit Public School system. He became writer and editor for Roosevelt Gazette Elementary School and graduated from Cass Technical High School in 1978. After high school, he studied Art and Music at the Center for Creative Studies. He loved playing football and played for the Westside Cubs and Cass Technical High School. He was also a Little League Baseball Coach and a Police Reserve Officer.

Gary worked part time while attending high school at McDonald’s. He also worked at the United States Post Office part time and became full-time in 1977. Where, he contin-ued his tenure enthusiastically, wearing many hats. In 1985, Gary met, fell in love and married his beautiful, dedicated wife, Natalie in 1993. From this union was born a son, Gary, Jr. whom he loved dearly. Gary worked for the Post Office for well over 36 years until his well deserved retirement.

Gary was introduced to the true gospel of the Savior, Yahshua the Messiah at the early age of Seventeen. He was a diligent servant for the Institute of Divine Metaphysical Research for forty-four years. Gary was a dedicated Soldier serving as Chairperson of the Ushers Committee, Security Officer for the Security Committee, Crew Leader for the Schools Clean-Up Committee, eventually forming his own cleaning company “United Pro Cleaners”, servicing the Detroit IDMR Branch School for many years. Gary was an avid Choir Member who absolutely “loved” singing in the Choir. His beautiful tenor could be heard through the voices and sang Lead on “Yahshua Is All I’m After”. Gary was also an Editor and wrote articles for “Son’s” Generator’s Newspaper for IDMR.

Gary helped paint charts with the Chart Committee and served on the Recreation Committee. Gary loved Yahshua the Messiah and going to “Class”. He genuinely loved his IDMR Family dearly, all of the family!
