MOSES “MOE GREEN” GINYARD
(October 16, 1967 - May 22, 2021)
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
Moses “Moe Green” Ginyard was born October 16, 1967 in Detroit, Michigan. He was the third oldest of four children born to Annie Mae (Kitching) Ginyard and the late Loman Ginyard Sr.
Moses was educated in the Detroit Public Schools. While attending John J. Pershing High School in Detroit, Moses started working for Shelter Used Car business owners the late Mr. William Moore and his widow, Mrs. Sue Moore. Moses love for cars grew into his adult life, just like his dad. In an effort to take on new challenges, Moses started his own business “M.G. Green Landscaping”. Moses was known for fine details in landscaping one’s yard and his goal was to achieve exceptional customer satisfaction.
Moses began his Christian life at an early age at the New Holly Missionary Baptist Church in Detroit. Later baptized at Cathedral of Faith in Inkster and prior to his death, baptized again at the Church of the Living God and then became a member of the City of Hope Church in Detroit.
Moses was one stylish man. He was a perfectionist and understood the importance of the finer details which made him stand out from the rest. He was known for dressing to match the hat, clothing and shoe ensemble to choosing a pocket square that complimented his outfit to the way it was folded. He had a bold sense of fashion described as dressing with the current fashion trends, like you walked off the pages of a magazine.
Moses entered in the presence of the Lord on May 22, 2021. He is predeceased by his father Loman Sr. He leaves to rejoice in his memory: his two daughters; Tyeshia Harshaw and Da’Nija Ginyard, Detroit, Michigan; two sons, Tevin Dixon and Jalen Whitfield, Detroit, Michigan; three grandchildren, Detroit, Michigan; his mother Annie Mae Ginyard, Detroit, Michigan; two sisters Jacqueline (Timothy) Brown and Sherri Ginyard, Wagener, South Carolina, one brother Loman Ginyard Jr. Detroit, Michigan; special friend Shawn Long, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins along with a community of friends.
The time has come for me to leave this life.
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day.
