Obituary for Dennis Anthony Givhan

Dennis Anthony Givhan was born August 12, 1956 in Detroit Michigan to the parents of Stanford and Inez Givhan. He was the youngest of 5 siblings. Dennis was preceded in death by parents, two brothers Keith and Sherman and one sister Judith.

Dennis accepted Christ at an early age. He was baptized at Greater New Mt Moriah Missionary Baptist church in Detroit Michigan. His parents took him to church every Sunday. Later in life he traveled with his mom and dad and became involved in the annual out of town traveling outings with the church choir the Male Chorus as well as family trips. He enjoyed driving his parents on those trips.

He attended Detroit Public Schools where he graduated from Henry Ford High school in 1974. After graduating from High School, Dennis became employed by Ford Motor Company for a short time. He decided it was best to assist in managing the family business and managed it them for over 30 years.

Dennis enjoyed cars, traveling and especially boating. The family owned several boats through the years. He learned how to drive them and became a better driver than his older brother. You always knew where to find him at the marina.

He was well liked by everyone he came in contact with. Always friendly and knew how to handle people. He had many friends and will be deeply missed by all.

Dennis was called home to be with the Lord on October 9, 2015. He leaves to cherish his son Christopher Michael, granddaughter Malena, Brother Stanford William Givhan Loving niece Rita Miller, Shenelle Byrd, Shannon Whitaker, Tiffany Givhan and a host of relatives and friends.
