Obituary for
Orlando L. Hall
Orlando Lee Hall, the third of 6 children, was born to the late
Lula D. (Richards) Hall and Ackie Hall on July 25, 1936, in
Georgiana, Alabama. He departed this life on Saturday,
February 23, 2013, peacefully in his sleep at home.
He accepted Christ at an early age as his Lord and Savior. Following
in his father's footsteps, he joined the U.S. Army where he served
as a Military Policeman and Parachutist, he received an honorably
discharged in 1956 with a National Defense Service Medal, Good
Conduct Medal and a Parachutist Badge.
Orlando, known to most as, "Londa", married Ernestine Griffin in
1955, he was a devoted husband and father who put his family
first whatever the occasion. To this union five children were born:
Angela, Alisa, Michell, Vincent and Steven. Londa, was talented
and loved working with his hands. He would spend long days
tinkering in the backyard fixing cars or in the garage creating some
modern conveniences for the house. His motto was Do-It-All-Hall.
His top two favorite hobbies were boating and fishing. Londa, was
an Engineer by trade and retired from General Motors in 1998.
Londa, had an awesome personality, he was intelligent and
humble with a sense of humor that was often the highlight of
many family gatherings.
Orlando leaves to cherish, wonderful and lasting memories: his
devoted wife Ernestine Hall; two dear sisters, Audrey Spencer and
JoAnne Cain; two dear sisters-in-law, Rosaline Hall and Gloria Jean
Cameron; one brother Ben Hall; four loving children: Angela
Moon, Alisa Hall, Michell Hall, Vincent Hall (who preceded him in
death) and Steven Hall. Sixteen grandchildren; nine great
grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
