Obituary for
Tanikka D. Harvey
On October 17, 1967 in Detroit Michigan, Homer Sr. & Dorothy Harvey were blessed with a beautiful baby girl, Ta-Nikka D. Harvey, affectionately known as “Nee Nee”. To this union, three children were born; Trina, Ta-Nikka and Tai-Kenya.
Ta-Nikka accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Third New Hope Baptist Church where she was very excited to be a part of the Women’s Ministry, Sacred Sister’s.
Ta-Nikka was educated in the Detroit Public School system. She attended Wingert Pre-Vocational Centers Class of 1996. Ta-Nikka was very school spirited. She was active in cheerleading, bowling and student counsel.
Ta-Nikka loved to sing and dance and her favorite R&B artist was Aaliyah. She loved to color in her many coloring books. Her very stylish clothes made a statement about her bubbly personality. She enjoyed visiting Pretty Ladies Hair Salon where her niece Taisha styled her hair in fancy styles. Ta-Nikka loved visiting the nail shop where she loved for her finger nails to be red Shellac only and designed only by Tangie.
Ta-Nikka’s God sister, Tinnie, who plans the family parties and vacations for every occasion where Ta-Nikka was always Tinnie’s guest of honor. Ta-Nikka looked forward to every event and loved the fun times they shared. Ta-Nikka loved to travel where she enjoyed traveling to Miami, cruises to Key West Florida and Cozumel, Mexico.
Ta-Nikka attended fun classes at “It’s all about you” where there were a variety of activities that included arts & crafts, baking cookies, cakes and pastries.
Ta-Nikka leaves in God’s care, her devoted and dedicated care giving sisters, Trina and Tai-Kenya (Will). Also in God’s care is one aunt, Winifred (John), one uncle, Robert and many other relatives and very special cousins and friends.
Ta-Nikka was preceded in death by her parents Homer Sr. & Dorothy Harvey, grandparents Eddie & Argie Harvey and Frank & Cody Willis.
