Helen, born on October 13, 1923, in Detroit, Michigan, transitioned peacefully on August 9, 2025, at the age of 101. Helen leaves behind her beloved sons who will forever carry her legacy of love and resilience.
Helen's remarkable journey through life was marked by her unwavering dedication to her family and a distinguished career with the U.S. government. As a proud African American woman, she navigated the challenges of her time with grace, dignity, and a guiding light of hope for those around her.
A public viewing will take place at James H. Cole Home for Funerals - Northwest Chapel on Monday, August 18, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM, where friends and family will gather to share memories and celebrate Helen's incredible life. The funeral service will be held at Ebenezer African Methodist Episcopal Church on Tuesday, August 19th, at 11:00 AM, preceded by a family hour at 10:30 AM. We invite all who knew and loved Helen to join us in honoring her extraordinary life and the indelible impact she made on our hearts.
Following the service, Helen will be laid to rest with her husband at Mt. Elliott Cemetery located at 1701 Mount Elliott St, Detroit, MI 48207, where her spirit will continue to inspire future generations.
