With profound sadness and a celebration of a life well-lived, we announce the passing of Isabell Hawkins, who departed this world peacefully on September 28, 2025, at the age of 105. Born on May 23, 1920, in Holt, Alabama, Isabell was a vibrant and resilient woman whose journey was marked by love, strength, and unwavering dedication to her family and community.
Isabell spent her life in Detroit, Michigan, where she contributed significantly to the retail industry as a security professional. Her work ethic and dedication were commendable, embodying the spirit of perseverance and commitment to service that she instilled in those around her.
She is lovingly remembered by her two daughters, Thomasine Hawkins and Dora Lane, who carry forward her legacy of love and resilience. They, along with their families, cherish the many memories shared with a woman who was a guiding light in their lives.
As we celebrate Isabell's remarkable life, we invite family and friends to join us for public viewing at the James H. Cole Home for Funerals - Northwest Chapel on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM. A Family Hour will be held at Ebenezer African Methodist Episcopal Church on Wednesday, October 8th, at 10:30 AM, leading into the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM, also at the church.
Following the services, Isabell will be laid to rest at Detroit Memorial Park West in Redford, MI.
Indeed, Isabell Hawkins' legacy will continue to inspire and encourage those who knew her. We gather not only to mourn but to celebrate a life rich in love, wisdom, and warmth. She will be deeply missed but joyfully remembered.
