Jamison Vorice Madlock, Sr.

September 30, 1949 — March 14, 2024

Jamison Vorice Madlock (aka Baby J), was born to the union of Jamison Madlock and
Annie Madlock on September 30, 1949, in Tyler, Texas. Jamison was the 7th child born to
this union. Mary Elizabeth, Barbara, and James all transition before him. The remaining
siblings are Oletha, Rev. Matthew (Jesse), and Rev. Linda (Pastor Prince).
Jamison attended Tyler Public Schools and later went on to Job Corp, where he received
his High School Equivalence Diploma.
Jamison met and married the love of his life Sharnell Johnson (Madlock) on September 21,
1970. And born to that union were Jamison V. Madlock Jr (Frankie) and Michael Madlock
(Gloria).
Jamison has 8 grandchildren: Andre (Char), Jada, Michael (Kyara), Alante (Stephanie),
Diamond, Akela, Kamela (Isaiah), Lataya (Terrell), and a host of great-grandchildren,
nieces, nephews, and friends.
Jamison was good with his boys and kids in general. He loved to cook and
always had a good story. He was a jokester and loved being surrounded by laughter.
Jamison was a people person and made even a stranger feel like family. Cars were Jamison’s
passion, no matter the make or model, This was evident by his career choice. He worked
for the “Big 3”. Yes, all 3! He was knowledgeable and could diagnois the problem,
sometimes without even looking under the hood. When he wasn’t working with cars, He
would pass the time by watching sports or Western movies. He even loved the outdoors. It
was everything to him! He would find a cool spot in the shade under the tree and be all set.
A fun fact about Jamison that most people didn't know, is Jamison had an amazing voice
and could really sing. Every Sunday he would have his very own worship service, right
from his room.
We are left to cherish the memory of our beloved Jamison. A devoted Husband, Father,
Grandfather, great grandfather and friend. Special thanks to Josephine, the neighbor that
became helper and friend. Let us remember the stories he told and remember to love each
other and live in the moment.
