Jessie (known as "Honey" to many) was born in Blocton, Alabama on July 13, 1928. She relocated to Detroit, MI with her mother and sister at a young age. Jessie completed high school and later married Jerome Stevens. Four children came from their union: Jerome (Jerry), Gregory, Marion and Alison. Essie initially worked as a seamstress and transitioned to Champion Spark Plugs until her retirement. She loved vintage antiques, classic cars, international travel and a wide genre of music that included classical and jazz. She was preceded in death by her mother, Isa Mae Arterbridge and sister Marion Engram. She leaves cherished memories to her children Jerry, Gregory, Marion and Alison, two grandchildren, Tara and Lexus, her dearly beloved godchildren Cynthia Houchins, Paul and Cassandra Wells, and a host of close friends.
