Louise Jones affectionately known as “Shorty” was born on June 20, 1937 in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Lieutetant and Annabelle Jones. She was the second oldest of four siblings, including Lorenza Jones Sr. and Anthony Jones, who preceded her in death.
Louise relocated to Detroit, Michigan in 1972. She was educated in the Birmingham, Alabama Public Schools system. However, she completed the General Education Development Program in the Detroit Public Schools System. Louise worked many years as a housekeeper for the Stanley family.
Louise lived a beautiful life that inspired those around her. She was known for her sense of humor, cooking,
and her famous peanut butter cookies that everyone loved.
Louise accepted Christ at an early age. She attended Sunday services at Brush Park Manor which she truly enjoyed.
Louise departed this life on Sunday, January 3, 2021. She leaves to cherish her memory: a devoted son, Michael Jones (Mae-Kate); one brother, John Bell Jr. (Jasmine) of Ibague, Columbia, ; one sister-in-law, Bertha Jones; four grandchildren, Benny McDaniel (April) of Birmingham, Alabama, Frank Williams (Pearlie) of Birmingham, Alabama, Sidney Williams of Maricopa, Arizona, and Michelle Coker (Chasabaun) of Greensboro, North Carolina; five great-children, Sidney Williams Jr, Davon Tyner, Donta Lorenzo Williams Jr (April), Anteria Janel Coker, and Tatyana Chavon Coker; seven nieces, Juanita Williams, Wanda Jean Larkins (Kevin), Belinda Woodford (Warren), Sonya Johnson (Mark) of California, Carman Bland (TyShaun), Angela Jones of Birmingham, Alabama, and Christina Bell of Huntsville, Alabama; two nephews, Lorenza Jones Jr. (Melissa), and John Bell III (Cassandra) of Birmingham, Alabama; one great-nephew, Kameron J’Schaun Bell of Huntsville, Alabama; three great-great grandchildren, NyAsia Carreia Walker, Saniya Deseray Williams, and Donta Lorenzo Williams Jr; three exceptional ladies that she cared for Willie Mae Finley, Jackie Hamilton, and Queen Finley and a host of friends.
