It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of J.W. Scott, who left us on December 24, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on April 18, 1935, in Marianna, Arkansas.

J.W. spent many years as a masonry worker in the construction industry, a testament to his craftsmanship and commitment to his trade. Throughout his life, he embodied the values of perseverance and integrity, leaving an indelible mark on those who had the privilege of knowing him.

J.W.'s legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will forever cherish his kindness, wisdom, and unwavering support.

A public viewing will be held at the James H. Cole Home for Funerals - Northwest Chapel on Friday, January 9, 2026, at 4:00 PM, allowing loved ones to come together to celebrate his life and share their memories. A family hour will take place at the Greater Burnette Baptist Church on Saturday, January 10th, at 11:30 AM, followed by a funeral service at the same location at 12:00 PM.

J.W. will be laid to rest at Grand Lawn Cemetery in Detroit, MI, where family and friends will gather to honor his memory. We invite all who knew him to join us in celebrating the remarkable life of J.W. Scott-a cherished man who brought warmth, laughter, and love to everyone around him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
