Keithe Brennell Dixon was born on May 21, 1957, in Detroit, MI, the second of seven sons born to the union of Mr. James Allen Moses Dixon, and Mrs. Lessie Mabel Brown Dixon.  Keithe’s father, James Allen Moses Dixon, and brother, Derric Castro Porter Dixon, preceded him in death.

As a young child, Keithe was bright, curious, creative, artistic, with a great sense of humor, precocious, self-confident, talented, and sometimes mischievous.  He prided himself in being a “big” older brother, who could dance like James Brown, and he worked hard on being a positive role model in the home, the church, and in the community. Keithe especially enjoyed watching over and caring for his 5 younger brothers.  He was a gifted draftsman and had a love for cars. As a young man, he was especially proud of his burgundy-colored Monte Carlo he purchased from his favorite Uncle, the late Samuel Dickson.

Keithe accepted Christ in 1970, and was baptized alongside his brothers, by Dr. Charles Howard Williams, Pastor of the St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church, located on Woodrow Wilson Street, in Detroit, MI. Keithe was an active participant in St. Mark’s Sunday School Young Men’s Class taught by the Pastor, and served as an usher on the St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church Usher Board alongside his older brother, Elmorris P. Dixon, whom he regarded highly. Keithe’s love for cars, along with his quiet, take-charge personality, creative & mechanical skills, and his giftedness & passion for helping others, served him well in his role as our big brother.

Keithe received his early education in the Detroit Public Schools, where he attended Peck Elementary, and Durfee Junior High Schools.  He graduated from the Design & Drafting Technology Curriculum at Cass Technical High in 1976, and thereafter, successfully completed an apprenticeship with the City of Detroit, as a Draftsman.  This apprenticeship with the City of Detroit led to fulltime employment as a Drafting & Mechanical Engineer with the Engineering Division of the City of Detroit Water & Sewage Department.  Keithe worked fulltime for the City of Detroit until an unfortunate car accident in 1996 resulted in a permanent disability. Keithe retired from the City of Detroit in May of 2017.

Keithe Brennell Dixon made his transition on Monday, June 6, 2022.  He leaves to cherish his memory, and legacy, a beloved, and devoted mother, Mrs. Lessie M. Dixon (Detroit, MI), five brothers - Elmorris P. Dixon (Willoughby, Ohio), Sigrid J. Dixon, Ph.D., Bryan E. Dixon, Colin C. Dixon, and Captain Christopher L.
