Kenneth Lee Graves was born on January 15, 1947, in Detroit, Michigan to the late Irene Graves.
Kenneth accepted Christ at the age of 10 years old under the leadership of the late Pastor Price Harris at The Morelight Missionary Baptist Church of Ecorse, MI.
Kenneth was educated in the Ecorse Public School System and graduated in 1965.Upon his graduation, he began working for Great Lake Steel as a Steel Worker. Shortly thereafter, he become eligible for an early retirement after his involvement in an onsite explosion. He exhibited what it means to be a human being and began his road to recovery from substance abuse.
Kenneth was a frequently visited Kalamazoo, Michigan, and upon his visits he met his soulmate, Christein Jackson. Upon several visits to the Motor City and with the reassurance of her soulmate Kenneth, Christein permanently relocated with Erik to Detroit, Michigan in search of a better life. On August 1, 1998, Kenneth and Christein were joined together in holy matrimony. Kenneth loved to playing cards, attending concerts and hosting family dinners. Most of all, he enjoyed the annual DACNA conventions.
Kenneths' bright personality could make anyone laugh and smile on their worst day. His smile would light up a whole room,depending on if his teeth were in. Kenneth cared incredibly about the people in his life and had a huge heart of love. He was genuine, confident, graceful, and an absolute gentleman.
Kenneth departed this life on November 10, 2021, at Arbor Hospice & Palliative Care Center of Saline, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his Loving Wife of 23 years, Christein Jackson; His Mother Irene Graves; 2 Grandchildren Ambria Winston & Curtis Phillips; His Brother Michael Graves and his Aunt Marie Adams. He leaves to cherish his devoted son, Erik Jackson; caring daughter Regina Miller, Mother in Love Eulastein Jackson, Beloved Brother Andrew Greer; Favorite Aunt Marie Adams, five Grandchildren, two Great Grandchildren, two nephews, and his Confidant/ Cousin Calvin Hopkins, and a host of friends and extended family.
