Jeanette Marie Knott was born to the late Richard Lee Knott Jr. and his wife Sharon Delmar Knott on Saturday, August 29, 1964 in Detroit, MI.
Jeanette was a lifelong teacher. She graduated from Redford High School in 1982, the Ferndale Community College Dental Assistant Program in 1983 and earned her Certificate in Early Childhood Education from Wayne Community College in 1998. Formally, she taught Pre-K and Kindergarten at St. Gerard Elementary and St. Francis D’ Assisi Elementary. Among family and her community, Jeanette taught many children how to read, write and count for the first time as well as the Golden Rule.
Jeanette was dedicated to her family, especially her parents. She made the family gatherings and special occasions memorable and delicious; her superb culinary skills were unmatched; she could cook anything and would do so with love and enthusiasm.
Jeanette was full of life, she was an: excellent dancer, swimmer, tennis player, biker and bowler. Jeanette was a natural caregiver and advocate for animals, children and her elders. She was an avid learner and reader; she would read everything she could put her hands on.
Jeanette was a devout Christian and revered all religions and lived her life generously and passionately.
Jeanette went home to be with the Lord, on Sunday, January 3, 2021 with her daughter Lauren and her twin sister Jennifer by her side. Her blessed memory will be cherished by her mother Sharon Delmar Knott, daughter Lauren Marie (Knott) Jones (Kidus Dawit), and granddaughters Sati Noelle Jones and Arden Sophia-Delmar Jones, eldest sister Dana Marie Knott, twin sister Jennifer Marie Knott- Humes (Vernon Humes) and her brother Ricardo Lynn Knott. She is mourned and remembered by her niece Amber Daisy Knott and nephews Ricardo Alexander Knott, JayDyn Zyaire Knott and Chance Knott, in addition to a host of dear family members and friends.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her loving father Richard Lee Knott Jr. and son-in law Mark Anthony Jones.
