Mr. Leo Broadnax of Taylor, Michigan made his transition on June 12, 2024 at the age of 71.
Leo was born in Pine Hill, Alabama on September 21, 1952. He graduated from Pine Hill Consolidated High School. He moved to Detroit, Michigan when he became an adult. Leo was married to Mary (Eichholzer) Broadnax on September 28, 1973; they were together 49 years and married for 47 years until her passing.
Leo worked as a Factory worker and Supervisor for several companies such as Massey-Ferguson Tractor Company, Pelican Security and Rich Powder Coating for the automotive industry. He loved his wife, kids and especially all his grandkids. He enjoyed fishing at Kensington Park with his children, planting vegetables and gardening, reading, had an interest in cars, barbecuing and spending time with his family. He loved reading his newspaper daily or watching westerns on television. He taught some of his kids how to play Tunk and other board games. He always brought an afternoon snack home to his kids and then later his grandkids. He loved to play music all the time. His favorite Gospel song was "Bridge Over Troubled Waters', another favorite song is by Al Green "Let's Stay Together" and many other Motown hits! He attended church as a child and continued reading and watching or listening to service from home or in the car (Saturday mornings) as an adult.
Leo is survived by his Children: Maria, Theresa (Richmond) Lester, Grandchildren: Jeniece, Jasmyn, Mackenzie, Levi, Jonathan, Lindsay, Lexington, and Marcel. Siblings: Elsie Williams (Ernest), Leoneda Autry (Willie), Herbert (Myra), Hubert (Teresa), Donald (Sandra). Other relatives and friends: Eichholzer Family, Broadnax Family, Autry Family, Williams' Family, and other family and friends.
Leo is preceded in death by his parents: Wilfred & Minnie Lee (Carmichael) Broadnax, His Wife, Mary, His sons: Leo Broadnax, Jr. and Christopher Lee Broadnax. Siblings: Della Everett, Willie Mae Smith, Jonathan and Wilfred.
