Carmelle I. Leonard
Carmelle Ines Leonard was born on January, 9 1926 in Saint Marc, Haiti to Conceptia and Antenor Desinor.
Carmelle worked first as a teacher then as a secretary for the Mayor in Saint Marc. She served her church as a deaconess and a matriarch. Carmelle’s hobbies were sewing, cleaning and organizing. She enjoyed reading her favorite book, the Holy Bible. She was very humble, intelligent, caring, patient, selfless and generous. In spite of everything, she was a small woman with a very big heart.
Carmelle Leonard was joined in holy matrimony with Jean-Marc Leonard for 61 years. To this union five children were born.
She departed in life on Monday, April 28 surrounded by her family and friends. Carmelle is preceded in death by her parents Antenor and Conceptia.
Carmelle is survived by her husband Jean-Marc of 61 years, her five precious children Jean- Claude (Myrlande), Jocelyne (Michel),Margaret (Horatius), Marilyne (Henock Sr.) and Reginald (Lorina); her siblings Junie, Ludovic, Noah, Elie, Emmanuel and Nicole. Eleven grandchildren: Natacha, Loadz, Mathieu (Samantha), Medjie, Jeffery, Henock Jr, Marc- Renee, Marc-Elie, Sabrina, Claudia, Victoria and Emma and two great grandchildren: Sydney and Luc. Furthermore, she was a host of brothers in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, friends, and church members.
