Obituary for Terrence Carlton Lett

On May 28, 1969 Terrence Carlton Lett was the first born, to Mark
Graham and Cheryl E.Mathis in Detroit, Michigan. He was baptized in to the
Catholic Faith at an early age and often held the role of altar boy.

Terrence was educated in the Detroit Public School System. Known for his rapping,
break-dancing skills and graffiti art-work, Terrence; first known as “Sleepy” in the
80's, and better known as “Daddy DEF” touched the lives of many.

Terry was a man of many talents. A chef in his own right, he obtained employment
throughout metro-Detroit area dining establishments. He took pleasure in
utilizing his culinary skills by doing what he loved most; being an artistic chef and
cooking for his family and friends.

On Saturday, March 26, 2011, the Lord called Terrence home to rest beyond the
clouds. Terrence will always be remembered by his family and friends as a Giver of
the Heart; a caring person; and a voice of encouragement. He was always willing to
take care of someone in need, without asking any questions; because that was
“Daddy DEF.”

A people person; who never met a stranger. He was also known for
his fun personality and great sense of humor.

A loyal and dedicated son to his mother; Terrence was also a father to many of the
neighborhood children who often came to him for advice and guidance. As he
always quoted “Daddy DEF loves the kids!”

There are no words that can express how deeply Terrence will be missed by the
many lives in which he deposited bits and pieces of himself into, he will Never be
forgotten!

Preceding him in death were his grand parents.; Lamar & Christine Lett, Sr.
and uncle Lamar Lett, Jr.

Those left to cherish his precious memory include his loving mother: Cheryl E.
Mathis, father: Marc Graham (Rosita), children; Dae'Ja Renee Lett; Jamecia
Rhodes; Antoine Alexander; sisters, Rashawnda and Tiffany Mathis (Shaun),

(Latoiya) and Marcus Graham, aunties; Marcia Smith and Deidra Lett,
