Mark Stephen Strong was born March 8, 1952 in Detroit, Michigan to the union of Faith Lois Shreve and Samuel Benjamin Strong.
Mark accepted Christ at an early age. He attended Detroit Public Schools, graduating from David Mackenzie High School in 1970.
Following graduation, Mark worked in a wide range of occupations, retiring from Henry Ford Hospital as a general maintenance employee.
Mark was joined in holy matrimony with Denise Sheard for 23 years.
Throughout most of his life, Mark had an unusual level of visual acuity which greatly served his passion for working in the visual arts. He especially enjoyed sketching in charcoal, impressing his art teachers. He also loved cars and was a frequent sight at the annual Woodward Dream Cruise.
Besides artwork and cars, Mark had a life-long fascination with the natural world, studying its endless diversity of living creatures in books, films, and outdoors.
Mark departed this life, from labor to reward on May 1, 2023.
Besides his wife, Denise, he is preceded in death by a sister, Deborah.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his step daughter, Sabrina Lewis; grandchildren: Zadora Mary Johnson, RaRedding Thomas Murray, and Willie Earl Johnson, Jr.; His parents: Faith and Samuel Strong; Three sisters: Letricia Staten (Ernest), Denise Harris (Rufus), and Kimberly Strong; two brothers: Lawrence Strong and Dean Strong (Jemella); and a host of a nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
