Michael Coble

August 17, 1962 — December 1, 2022

Michael Frazier Coble was born in Detroit, Michigan on August 17, 1962 to Wilma and Haskin Coble. He is the third and youngest child in his family.

Michael is described as a happy child and enjoyed playing sports with his numerous childhood friends in the Russell Woods community of Detroit. As a teen, he was active in the Plymouth United Church of Christ youth group.

Michael attended Detroit Public Schools until 1979 when he graduated from Cass Technical High School. Following the steps of his mother and King grandparents, he became a third-generation legacy graduate of Talladega College in Talladega, Alabama.  Michael received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science from Talladega College in 1984.

During his time at Talladega College, Michael served as a Computer Science tutor. He was a member of D-Phi-D, a social fraternity on the campus of Talladega College.   Michael loved playing Bid Whist and Spades. One year, he and his former college roommate, Earl Ealy won the Talladega Spades Championship.

Michael worked with many companies as a Computer Analyst including Unisys, Allstate, and General Motors. During his career he earned multiple Computer Technical certifications.

Michael would discuss any and every sport with confidence and was ready to argue his point of view at all times.  Michael was a friend to all and was well known and well-liked. He was always willing to go the extra mile for his friends and family. He especially loved his Talladega College and Russell Woods communities. Several members of both communities have expressed fond memories of him. One long term neighbor recently shared that Mike was the glue that made his neighborhood a real community.

Michael was predeceased by his parents Wilma and Haskin Coble, grandparents William and Ora King & Ennis and Etta Coble, and his nephew Steven Coble. He is survived by his devoted son, Brandon Bullock; brothers Gregory Coble (Cynthia) and William Coble (Barbara); nephews Gregory Coble, Jr. (Cheryl), Ennis Coble (Lauren), William Coble, Christian Coble, and David Coble. Also surviving Michael are his loving first cousins: Joy Bramlette, Veretta Nix, Dr. Roselyn Kirkland (Levi), Susan Webster (Donald), and Carmen Hughes (Michael); and godfather of his son Brandon and his very close friend Earl Ealy, Jason O’Neal, Michael’s godbrother, as well as a host of family and friends.
