Our beloved mother, Michelle Antoinette Stuart (Micci), of Detroit, Michigan, passed peacefully in her sleep on February 4, 2022. A firecracker through life, she was 66 years old.
Michelle was born in Detroit on January 6, 1956, to Patricia and Robert Thomas Sr. She attended Saint Martin de Porres and Northwestern High Schools and went on to earn a Cosmetology Diploma from Virginia Farrell Beauty Schools.
Michelle found love and married twice; She had four children, Michael, Nikita, Marlin and Leslie. After graduating, her focus shifted to providing for her family. She ran a home salon, owned a cleaning business, and served the U.S. Postal Service for eight years – before joining Suburban Metro Area Regional Transit (SMART) as a Driver.
After retiring from SMART in 2012, Micci devoted her time to engaging family and friends on social media, fishing, gardening, and caring for her five dogs. She was also a member of Order of the Eastern Star.
The eldest of six siblings, Michele was predeceased by her parents, Patricia and Robert Sr. and sister, Robin. She leaves to cherish her memory, Michael (Connie), Nikita, Marlin, Leslie, her sister Selena, brothers Clemons, Robert Jr. and Christopher (Katrina), nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
We appreciate your love and support during this difficult time.
A memorial service will be held at James H. Cole Main Chapel (624 West Grand Boulevard in Detroit) 3:30 pm on Wednesday, February 16 to remember Mom’s life.
