Virginia Posey
Virginia Posey was born Jan 31, 1924 in Youngstown, Ohio to Samuel and Jessie Green. She was the youngest of three girls. After the passing of her mother she and her two sisters, Sammie Lee and Willie Lee were taken to Tyler Alabama to be raised by their Uncle Buddy and Aunt Bessie. All who preceded her death. Virginia was united in holy matrimony on June 8, 1945 to Beosker Posey. She was blessed to become mother to Susie M. Leach (Clyde). Virginia and Beosker honeymooned in Detroit, Michigan.
They loved Detroit so much they decided to stay (yea). To this union 5 children were born: Patricia Aaron, Raymond, Gwendolyn Taylor (Robert), Beosker Jr. (Donna), and Gregory Sr. (Raymond preceded his mother in death). Virginia and Beosker joined King Solomon Baptist Church later in life, they joined Unity Baptist Church where they are still members. Virginia worked as a housekeeper, a cook for Kresge and later Detroit Osteopathic Hospital as a Nurses Aid. She retired from DOH in 1988. She also took a part time job at Action Data as a clerical worker. Virginia was known for her great cooking, especially her home made rolls (mmm good).
Virginia has 27 grandchildren (Susie) Thyrell Leach, Chyrell Wells, Maggie La Mont, Angel Bernard, Johnny Leach and Demetris Leach (Pat) Lisa Barrios, Brian Aaron, Lakesha Aaron, Steven Aaron and Christina Aaron (Raymond), Kelly Moore, Raymond Posey Jr. and Jason Posey. (Gwen) Stacey Nelson, Stefanie Mc Arn, Robert Taylor II, William Taylor, Ronald Taylor and Robin Taylor (Billy) Michelle Washington, Beosker Posey III and Dana Posey (Greg) Gregory Posey Jr., Wayne Posey, Allysia Posey and Joshua Posey.
Virginia loved God, enjoyed life and a good time, she loved taking care of people and she loved being in the kitchen cooking and baking. With Jesus and Beosker as her anchor, she walked through life Head Up, Back Straight and a Smile. She was affectionally known by her 45 great-grands and 23 great great grands as Granny. After her family and friends left her home at 8044 Northlawn (Cel-ebrating her 92nd birthday) Jan 30, 2016, her angel grand-son Gregory Posey Jr. came and got her to finish the party in heaven. Oh! What a celebration. Virginia leaves her husband of 69 years, 5 children, many grand, great, and great great grandchildren, son-in-laws, grand-in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and wonderful friends to cherish her.
