Lee Andrew Pratt

Lee Andrew Pratt (affectionately known as Uncle Lee) was born on July 20, 1934 at Herman
Kiefer Hospital in Detroit, MI to the late Charles and Beulah Pratt. Uncle Lee is the youngest of two
children, his brother Earnest William Sr. preceded him in death. Uncle Lee attended Ecorse High School,
however was drafted in 1954 to join the United States 9th Marine Corps Reserve and Recruitment District.
Uncle Lee served as a Private (PVT) with an occupation of Proof Technician of Small Arms with a specialty
title of Machine Gunner in the Korean War. Uncle Lee was ranked as Corporal in 1956; he then transferred
to Marine Corps Reserve in 1957 where he spent the remainder of his service. In 1962 Uncle Lee retired
from the Marine Corps with an Honorable Discharge, during his time of service he received: The National
Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, and the Good Conduct
Medal. While serving in the military Uncle Lee also worked for the New York Central Railroad as an
Inspection and Maintenance Servicer from 1953 to 1968. In 1968 Uncle Lee began a career with General
Motors, Cadillac Division where he worked for 30 years as an Automotive Millwright Skilled Tradesman.

Uncle Lee Married Jessie Marie Jones in 1966, they enjoyed 21 years of marriage before she preceded
him in death, to this union no children were born. He later married Diane Holland in 1997, they enjoyed
12 years of marriage before she preceded him in death, to this union no children were born, however Uncle
Lee received 2 children, 6 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. Uncle Lee accepted Jesus Christ as
his Lord and Savior, he was an active member of Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church for many years. In
Uncle Lee’s latter years of life, he attended Hope Evangelical Ministries. Uncle Lee was a well- rounded
and very outgoing man, one of his favorite hobbies was bowling, he was a member of a league where he
competed nationally. Uncle Lee’s proudest moments in bowling were winning multiple championships
and scoring a perfect score of 300 on several occasions. Uncle Lee enjoyed spending time with his family,
engaging in fun activities such as: bowling, fishing and basketball. Uncle Lee really enjoyed taking his
loved ones out on his boat for cruises on the Detroit River. You could easily find Uncle Lee enjoying homemade
cooking prepared by his beloved nieces. Uncle Lee was very family oriented, he spent his last days
enjoying their company and celebrating the life milestones of all of his family.

Uncle Lee made his transition on July 21, 2020, looking to the heavens with a smile on his face, truly
at peace. He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, his nieces and nephews, his caregivers Trina and
David Towns, and a host of family and friends
