Phillip Charles Robinson
The Life of
Phillip Charles Robinson, was lovingly referred to as “Big Phil” by his family and friends. He was born March 10, 1950 to the union of Irene and Charles Robinson whom preceded him in death.
Phil was educated in the Detroit public school system. He graduated in 1968 from Northwestern High School and later became the President of the Picnic Committee for the Alumni which he loved.
Phil married his soul mate Stacey Whitfield on April 24, 1997.
He worked for Chrysler Corporation 38 years until retirement in 2007.
Phil was the president for the Detroit chapter for the Hodges – Everett Family Reunion. He also was a big lover of music, especially Motown. He loved his family’s annual fish fries, which he would passionately DJ. Phil loved to keep in touch with family members, his friends from his old neighborhood and high school. He loved basketball, dominoes and playing bid whisk with friends and family. Phil also had a passion for classic cars, and loved to travel.
He was a devoted husband to Stacey, and a devoted father to his daughter Deanna. He also had an incredible loving relationship with his two sisters, nieces and great niece.
Phil was also preceded in death by two brothers Jimmy and Larry, and step daughter Kenyetta Whitfield
Phillip quietly slipped away surrounded by his family and friends on April 14, 2015, leaving behind his Devoted Wife Stacey Robinson, Daughter Deanna, step daughter Denise; Sisters Julie, and Charlon; Step-son David (Shacquel); Grandchildren: Ryen, Kameron, Kyra, and D.J.; Nieces: Denise, Shantell, and Salika (Steven); Great niece Shanya; Mother-In-law Doris Crowell whom he loved and helped in her care. Sister In-laws Cassandra, and Stephanie; Brother-In-Law Tony and nephew Ian; his (brother) Ben and a host of cousins and friends.
