Ruth C. Robinson
- The Seasons of Life -
Season of Birth: Ruth was born December 25, 1930 to Georgia and Percy Durant in Clarksdale, Mississippi. At an early age, she and her family moved to Detroit, Michigan.
Season of Growth: Ruth, a shy and very studious young lady, graduated from Northeastern High School, studied and became an L.P.N., and also completed Fairbanks Sewing and Finishing School. Her passion for helping others in nursing or sewing was a blessing to many.
Season of Love: In love, Ruth had 4 beautiful children: Barbara Jones-Orsini, Valda (James) Byrd, Anita (Paul) Norwood, and Gerod Robinson.
Season of Celebration: Ruth lived life to the fullest. Everyone she met was a friend, and she never hesitated to reach out to help. For over 60 years, Ruth, Cora Brown, and Barbara Craig have been life-long friends. Ruth enjoyed playing bingo, entertaining and cooking; we will miss her German chocolate cake and banana pudding. She also loved dining out and would not hesitate to order her favorites: fried shrimp, barbeque, and lemon custard ice cream. Ruth’s love for music and dancing was no secret, whenever the music would come on, Ruth had one and only one dance we will never forget. Ruth faithfully watched television programs; The Price Is Right and her all time favorite show from Season 1 to the current season, The Young and the Restless. Ruth loved going to church, and singing in the choir; she accepted Christ at an early age and lived with Jesus in her heart. She lived an active life full of spirit, and treated everyone with love from the heart.
