It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Rodafay Ann Avant, cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, who departed this life on December 30, 2025, at the age of 71. Rodafay was born on March 9, 1954, in Detroit, Michigan, where she spent her vibrant life dedicated to her family and her profession as a school bus driver, impacting countless young lives along the way.

Rodafay was a loving and devoted mother and a proud grandmother. Her warmth, strength, and indomitable spirit will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Rodafay's legacy of kindness and compassion will continue to resonate within her family and community.

A public viewing will be held on Monday, January 12, 2026, from 3:00 PM - 9:00 PM at the James H. Cole Home for Funerals - Northwest Chapel, where friends and family are invited to gather to honor and remember her remarkable life. A family hour will precede the funeral service on Tuesday, January 13th, at 10:30 AM, with the service set to follow at 11:00 AM. The burial will take place at Detroit Memorial Park East, after the service.

As we celebrate Rodafay's life and contributions, we invite all who knew and loved her to join in remembering the joy, laughter, and love she brought into the world. In our hearts, she will forever remain a guiding light.
