Roslyn Jones was born in Detroit, Michigan on May 15, 1943, to her parents Willie Russell and Willa Lacy Rice (whom both proceeded her in death). She was one of eight siblings: Eunice (preceded her in death), Russell, Iris, Michael, Stephen (preceded her in death), and Karen (preceded her in death).
Roslyn was married to Harvey Jones and together they had 5 children: Jewelia, Harvey, Victor (preceded her in death), Bonnie, and Kathryn. She has 13 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.
She was a devout Christian who was sure to instill in her children and others that she would encounter, the importance of living a life for Christ while being sure to teach the importance of good morals and great life values. She also wasn't shy in having healthy biblical debates. Lol. She truly loved the Lord.
Roslyn worked for the Safeway Transportation Company as a school bus driver and then as a bus driver for the City of Detroit, then supervisor before retiring from the city. She truly devoted her unconditional nurturing and encouragement to each individual child, grandchild and great grandchild with all the endless love any one person could ever give.
Roslyn loved spending time with her family and traveled the world to many places such as Germany, Paris, Switzerland, Holland, Berlin, Birkenstock, Italy and so many other places. She also really enjoyed her mother and daughters trips. The last was to Mount Rushmore. There was no limit to where she would go to enjoy and spend time with her family. In the midst, before her passing, we were planning another mom and daughters' trip next summer. In the last few years, she looked forward to picking another place of her choosing.
She was always there whenever anyone needed help or guidance.
