Bernice Russell
Bernice Russell was born on April 1, 1932 in Mobile, AL to Thomas and Queenie Love.
After graduating from high school in DeKalb, MS, Bernice attended Poro College in Chicago, IL and graduated with a cosmetology license in 1954. Her career as a hairstylist spanned for over 30 years, owning and operating a local hair salon in the 1980’s.
In 1955, Bernice married George Edward Russell, and eventually moved to Detroit, MI. To this union was born four children.
Bernice was baptized into the truth in 1971.
Bernice enjoyed listening to music of all kinds, playing piano, traveling, and learning new tricks from the local cooking programs. She especially enjoyed auxiliary pioneering and providing transportation to and from Kingdom Hall meetings and conventions for other Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Queenie Love; by her husband, George Edward Russell; and by her brother, Lieutenant Love.
Bernice is survived by her children, Kenneth Edward, Kevin George, Kay Bernice and Michelle; by her granddaughter, Tiffany Marie; by her great grandson, Alexander, and by a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
