It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Samuel Lee Caruthers, a cherished brother, veteran, and beloved friend. Samuel was born on September 6, 1939, in Detroit, Michigan, and departed this life on July 2, 2026. He was 86 years old.

Samuel proudly served his country in the United States Army, exemplifying the dedication and bravery of a true patriot. After his service, he went on to have a successful career as a Warehouse Supervisor with J.L. Hudson's, where he was known for his strong work ethic and leadership qualities.

He is survived by his loving brother, Robert Caruthers, and sister-in-law, Joyce Bryant-Caruthers, who will forever hold dear the memories and legacy of his life. Samuel leaves behind a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

For those wishing to pay their respects, a public viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the James H. Cole Home for Funerals - Northwest Chapel. The family will gather for a Family Hour at 10:30 AM on Thursday, July 9th, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. The service will honor Samuel's life and contributions, celebrating a life well-lived.

Following the services, Samuel will be laid to rest at Elmwood Cemetery, located at 1200 Elmwood St, Detroit, MI 48207, where family and friends will gather in remembrance.
