Dr. Pitts Simmons, Ph.D

Pitts Selwyn Simmons III (“Cee”), 50, of Green, Ohio, was welcomed into the arms of God on October 14, 2013. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on October 16, 1962 to the union of Johnnie and (deceased) Annie Ella Simmons. At a very young age, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior. He was baptized at Westside Unity Church in Detroit, Michigan. He recently joined Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Akron, Ohio. Cee has always maintained a strong faith in God. He was employed at Time Warner Cable until he became ill in 2007. He was a member of Phi Beta Sigma and a Brother Mason of the Newborne Lodge #259. Prior to his death, Cee was persuing his Ph.D in Business Administration. He was preceded in death by mother, Annie Ella; daughter, Kee Kee; brother, Curtis. Cee is survived by his wife, Wanda, whom he cherished and loved so much. He also leaves behind his father, Johnnie; siblings, Felicia (Ronnie), Sarita, Willie (Debra), and Jay (Marcia); mother-in-law, Josephine; sister-in-laws, Sharon (Steve) and Tonya (Charlie); and a host of many other family and friends. A public viewing will be held on Friday, October 25, 2013 at James H. Cole Home for Funerals, Inc., 16100 Schaefer Hwy, Detroit, Michigan 48235, from 2p.m to 9p.m. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2013, from 11a.m. until time of service at Westside Unity Church, 4727 Joy Rd, Detroit, Michigan 48204 with Reverend Charles Williams officiating. Interment will be held at Detroit Memorial Park, West in Redford, Michigan. Procession will form at 3303 West Philadelphia Street, Detroit, Michigan.
