James Martin Sledge

James (Jim) Martin Sledge, son of Kenneth and Betty Sledge was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 1, 1958, and departed this life on September 20, 2020. He graduated St. Theresa Catholic elementary in 1973, St. Martin De Porres High School in 1977, and attended Wayne County Community College.

Jim was a lover of life, laughter, and good times. He enjoyed family gatherings, hanging out with friends, and staying current with the news. Jim was a jokester and often would laugh throughout the entire joke, making it that much funnier. He was known for his quick wit, superb comedic timing, on point one-liners, and compassionate spirit. The family gatherings will never be the same.

Jim leaves to cherish his memory his devoted parents Kenneth and Betty, only child Cynina Holley (mother, Dovee Holley), grandson Steven Holley, brothers and sisters, Kenneth Jr., Carolyn, Idella (preceded), Francine (John), Michelle (Wendell), Gary (Lisa), and Anthony (Trina).

Nephews and nieces, Bettina, Brandi, Jerome, Tracie (preceded), Erica, Johnny, Kiara, Lanita, Gary Jr., Francia, Tonio, Kenneth, Taylor, Brianna, Dallas, Austin, Liliana, Elena, K’ali, Romen, Remi, and Romeo.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to all those who knew, loved, and laughed with Jim. He will truly be missed by all.
