Mario A. Smith

Mario Anthony Smith transitioned this life peacefully on September 20, 2020 after a lengthy illness. He was born February 21, 1949 in beautiful Kingston, Jamaica as an only child to Dowell and Brenda Smith. Mario arrived in the United States at 7 years old where he attended Detroit Public Schools. Mario was an only child but is survived by many adopted siblings whose families were assisted by the Smith’s in relocating and settling in America. Mario is survived by his devoted wife Sharon Crockett-Smith, children Cortney Bell Schilinger, Mario A Smith Jr., Christian Smith, and Kansas Flowers. Step- Children, Dr. Heather Miller(Marcus) and Aaron Crockett, grandchildren, Lilly and Loki Schilinger and Princeton and Jonah Miller, special cousin Ainsworth Waldemar (Linda), father figure to Gregory and Gene and Ruffin and Michelle Ellerie, many friends.
