Obituary for Jason C. Stewart

Jason was born on March 26, 1971 to Rita and Darrell Stewart in Detroit, Michigan. He suddenly departed this life at age 41 without a chance to say ”goodbye” to those he loved on June 16, 2012 as a result of Sarcoidosis; the same deadly disease that took the life of comedian, Bernie Mac.

Jason attended Luckett Christian Academy in Royal Oak and graduated from Berkley High School in 1990. He showed a natural talent at a young age for fixing things and was a self-taught mechanic and electrician. If anyone who knew him had an electrical problem, a broken air conditioner, a busted water pipe, a malfunctioning small or large appliance or a broke down car on the side of the road, the first thing they would say was, “Call Jason!” Jason could put in a part here and there, push a few buttons, connect a few wires and engines would start up, water would pour out and televisions would come on! His natural abilities allowed him to easily complete his studies at Northwestern Tech Heating and Cooling School. He last worked for AT&T as a technician and took great pride in his ability to solve complex technical problems.

He leaves to mourn his passing his sons, Jason II (age 9) and Darrick (age 14) who he was devoted to raising as strong black men. His wife, Keyshia is left with a broken heart and a list of dreams and wishes she had meant to tell him about when the time was right. His father and step-mother Darrell and Yvette Stewart, his dearest sister, Jazmine, step brother Lewis and step sister, Maria are filled with grief and sorrow.

Jason is a member of Oakland’s Stewart family.” He is the grandson of Mildred Stewart, son of Rita Stewart and big brother to Miracle and Marcus. His aunts, Yolanda, Barbara, Jacquelyn and Sherry (Eric, Sr.) and cousins Kire, Eric Jr., Darius, Asia and Jasmine are inconsolable over his passing.

Jason has left many, many friends behind. He was a natural comedian and commented about life, people, current events and his own personal troubles in a way that kept everybody laughing. He can no longer be a part of the camaraderie of life long friends who will always miss him.
