Thelma L. Yates

It is with joy and sorrow that we announce the passing of Thelma L. Yates, a devoted mother, cherished friend, and compassionate direct care provider, who touched the lives of many during her remarkable 101 years. Born on January 23, 1924, in Memphis, TN, Thelma brought joy, warmth, and strength to everyone she encountered. She departed this life on September 23, 2025, in Detroit, MI.

Thelma was a proud high school graduate who dedicated her life to caring for others in the health care industry. Her legacy of kindness and compassion continues to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. As a loving mother, she leaves behind her spirit of generosity and love.

We invite family and friends to celebrate Thelma's life and legacy at a heartfelt funeral service to be held at the New St. Paul Tabernacle Church of God In Christ on Saturday, October 11th, at 11:00 AM with the Family Hour beginning at 10:00 AM. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Grand Lawn Cemetery in Detroit, MI, where her memory will be honored and cherished.
