It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Thomas Rye Bond, affectionately known as Tom, who went to be with the Lord on June 4, 2026, at the age of 75. Born on June 1, 1951, in Detroit, Michigan, Tom lived a life rich in love, laughter, and dedication to his family and community.
Tom was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Margie Willis Bond, with whom he shared countless treasured moments and adventures. He embodied the spirit of resilience, having worked diligently in the retail industry as a dedicated salesperson, where his warm demeanor and keen understanding of people made him a beloved figure among his colleagues and customers alike.
In honoring Tom's life, family and friends are invited to a public viewing at the James H. Cole Home for Funerals - Northwest Chapel on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, 3:00 PM - 9:00 PM. A Family Hour will take place at Hartford Memorial Baptist Church on Thursday, June 18th, at 10:00 AM, preceding a Funeral Service that will celebrate Tom's remarkable life at 11:00 AM.
Following the service, Tom will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery in Detroit, MI, where family and friends will gather to pay their final respects.
As we bid farewell to Thomas Rye Bond, let us remember the joy he brought into our lives and carry his spirit of love and kindness forward. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will forever remain in the hearts of those he cherished.
