Beloved wife of the late Joseph T. Thomas III.

Loving mother of Marion (Saffell) Gardner and Herbert (Felecia) Hayden.

Cherished Grandmother to Briana and Warren Hayden and Asukile and Michael Gardner. Dearest sister to Maber Hill and Jean (Norman) Fuqua. Dear aunt of many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Marion was a 1949 graduate in Chemistry from University of Michigan. She was among the first African Americans to reside in the school dormitories. For more than 25 years Marion taught science at Chadsey High School and Wayne County Community College. She retired as a Science Department Head and was a popular math and science tutor in Detroit.
