Constance (Connie) Bethesda Tilghman, the eldest child to Robert and Dorthulah Davis (Mills) was born October 5, 1931. She welcomed her brothers and sister Robert L Davis Jr., Julia Davis (Woody) and Harding Bernard Davis (Deceased).
She was introduced to Jesus Christ at an early age and accepted him and the teachings of the Catholic Church and became involved in the activities to provide leadership and assistance to the people of the Church and the surrounding communities.
Constance grew up in Detroit and Inkster. She received her early education experience in the Inkster Public School system which culminated with her graduation at Inkster High in 1950. After high school Constance with her willingness to help other decided to pursue a career in the healthcare profession. She enrolled in Ann Arbor school of Nursing and completed her training to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. She began her nursing career at Eloise Hospital in Westland, Michigan later continuing her education and received an Associates in Science Degree from Wayne County Community College.
Constance met and married Thomas L. Tilghman. To this union two children were born; Maureen Darcel and Charles Anthony. The family moved to Detroit in 1960.
Constance continued to work at Eloise Hospital where after many years she met the love of her life Bryant Brunson who preceded her in death. This was a love story that lasted for more than Fifty years. Constance retired from Eloise Hospital after 30 years and, continuing her career at Detroit Receiving Hospital for an additional 20 years. She became involved in various social groups such as the A.B.W.A, Gamma Phi Delta Sorority Beta Chapter and the Ladies Auxiliary of St. Peter Claver Church Court # 299. Which she was extremely proud of.
Constance made her transition on April 19, 2019 after a brief illness. She leaves to cherish her memories her children Maureen and Charles (Patricia) her brother Robert L. Davis Jr., sister Julia Davis (Woody), and adopted children Jock Tyus, Yvonne Simpkins and Johnnie K. Davis, granddaughter Dominique Lowe (Mark), (5) great grandchildren, cousins Arnold and Linley Newbold, nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends.
