Tony Maurice Calhoun

March 11, 1951 — April 5, 2023





Tony Maurice Calhoun was born March 11, 1951, in Anderson, South Carolina, the son of Thomas and Rosena Calhoun. Tony attended Detroit Public Schools and graduated president of his class from Detroit Northern High School “summer class of 1970”. He participated in many sports during high school such as basketball and track & field. Shortly after graduating, Tony enlisted into the United States Army.


Tony loved bowling, shooting pool, playing chess, and playing a good game of dominos. Let’s not forget about his love of animals, especially dogs. Tony was employed at Canis Major Pet Food Supply Store for many years.


Tony leaves to cherish his memory; son, Anthony M. Calhoun (Shannel) of Frankfort, Germany; brother, Wendell Calhoun of Southfield, Ml; sister, Donita {Ronald) Pikes of Flint, Ml and adopted sister Nicole Calhoun. Tony was loved by a host of nieces: Malanee, Myia and Lela; nephews: Mario (Lesley) Thomas, Ronald, Malik and Brandyn, a host of cousins, special cousin Patricia Austin and his special friend Diane Moses.


Tony was preceded in death by his parents; Thomas and Rosena Calhoun, grandparents; Jeff and Marie Calhoun; Thomas and Lillie Bell Clinkscales, several aunts, and uncles.
