Obituary for Carl Edrick Williams Sr.

Carl Edrick Williams, Sr. was born in Detroit on October 16, 1933 to Hular Williams and James Robinson who preceded him in death.
Carl grew up in Detroit, Michigan and attended public school, Jackson Community College and Wayne State University, receiving an Associate Degree in Philosophy.
Carl served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. During his lifetime, Carl worked as a welder for Great Lakes Steel and Dana Corporation. He was a landscaping expert as well as a consummate cook. Carl was a longtime caregiver to the sick in his community. Finally, he worked tirelessly, 15 years in his business 'The Five Star Vending Services' until he took ill.
In 1949 at the age of 15, Carl met the love of his life Geraldine (Denson) Williams from Charleston, W. Virginia. On December 29, 1954 Carl and Geraldine were married. To this union three children were born: Cassandra Williams, Carl William Jr., and Robert Gerald Williams who preceded . him in death in 1960.
Carl had a love for people, flowers knowledge and music especially Jazz.
Carl leaves behind: his beloved, Geraldine of Farmington Hills, MI; one daughter, Cassandra Marshall "Cassie" of Detroit; one son, Carl E. Williams, Jr "Ricky" of Farmington Hills; three grandchildren, Jesse (Angie) Harris IV of Southfield, MI, Kevin Marshall of Detroit, MI and Candice Marshall of Kalamazoo, MI; three great-grandchildren, Hakeem Shukur Harris, Mani and Maya Martin; one brother- in-law, Mr. JosephA. Denson of Farmington Hills; one sister- in-law, Ms. Lenora Choice of L.A. California; and a host of nieces and nephews who affectionately called him "Uncle Carl," and a plethora of community and neighborhood friends.
Special thanks to Great Lakes Hospice (Karen, Alicia, Rev. Bell, Rhonda and Tamara); The Showplace family who prayed for him daily and T. C. Black who befriended Carl during his illness.
