THOMAS HENRY WOODLE WAS BORN IN RANDOLPH COUNTY (RAMSEUR), NORTH CAROLINA.
HIS PARENTS, WALTER AND CLARETTA, BROUGHT THEIR FAMILY TO DETROIT WHEN THOMAS WAS NINE MONTHS OLD.
THOMAS ATTENDED ALGER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. IN 1949 HIS FAMILY MOVED FROM THE NORTH END OF DETROIT TO THE WEST SIDE. HE SPENT MOST OF HIS YOUTH AT HIS FAMILY'S HOUSE ON PHILADELPHIA AVENUE. SUBSEQUENTLY, HE ATTENDED FAIRBANKS ELEMENTARY, HUTCHINS JR HIGH AND NORTHWESTERN HIGH SCHOOL. HE GRADUATED IN 1957.
SHORTLY THEREAFTER, THOMAS JOINED THE US AIR FORCE. HONORABLY DISCHARGED AFTER FOUR YEARS, TOM WENT TO WORK FOR KELSEY HAYES.
IN 1963 TOM MARRIED BILLYE ROSLYN WILSON. FROM THIS UNION, HIS SON, SEAN CARLTON WOODLE, WAS BORN.
IN 1990 TOM RETIRED FROM THE CADILLAC DIVISION AT GENERAL MOTORS.
TOM LOVED MUSIC, POLITICS, MEDIA, HISTORY AND CONVERSATION.
TOM'S LEGACY ON EARTH CONTINUES THROUGH HIS SON SEAN AND DAUGHTER-IN-LAW JENNIFER, GRANDSONS CAMERON & BRENDAN, SISTER AGNES, BROTHER WALTER AND SISTER-IN-LAW JERALD, NIECE SHARI AND HER HUSBAND ROOSEVELT, NEPHEWS DARREN & KURT, AUNTS EVELYN & DORA, MANY COUSINS & FRIENDS.
